Mentor

My name is Samantha Botha. I am married to the love of my life, Antonie, for almost 24 years. I am a mother to Micaela-Jannene (21) Daniella (19) and Luke (17) whom I homeschooled. Micaela is already married to a lovely young man named Albert; Daniella has also left home and lives in Wilderness, a very beautiful part of our country in South Africa. I live in the North West Province, a small town flanked by a very big, man-made dam on one side and majestic mountains on the other. 
 I studied English and Art at the University of Pretoria and I have a BA (Fine Art). I have lived in three Middle Eastern countries, namely Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), Bahrain, and Turkey (Izmir and Istanbul). My children, husband, and I developed an incurable travel bug and we really enjoyed living abroad and learning about different cultures and customs. Our country South Africa, itself, is a country made up of contrasting cultures, and we have 11 official languages of various ethnic groups. 

Besides helping Luke with his almost completed Matriculation studies, I am a professional artist. I paint in oils and I love to paint portraits and unusual still-life paintings. I have 5 dogs and three cats. Luke collects reptiles and snakes. Our house is teeming with life. 

I also see myself as an amateur Christian apologist, I spend as many hours as I can spare doing research and learning how to defend my beliefs in Jesus Christ and the Bible. I believe that we must know and understand what we believe and be ready to offer gentle and respectful reasons for the hope we have within us. I write articles and emails addressing incorrect doctrine and interpretation of Scripture.
