"I joined the program for a few reasons. During 2020, not being able to go to church, I found myself craving being able to learn about Christianity. When my youth group finally went back in person, it wasn't the same. There wasn't nearly as much emphasis on learning the Bible as there once had been. In a way, I had matured out of it. Being able to have one-on-one interactions and study time with a mentor, and going chapter to chapter through the Bible has been an amazing learning experience. I would definitely recommend it."

WHERE ARE OUR MENTORS FROM?
PURPOSE
The Online Mentorship Program is currently TRINICY’s most direct effort to support conservative Christian Scholars feeling isolated and alone in our highly secular, post-Christian culture. We facilitate one-on-one mentorship/ discipleship relationships by connecting Christians around the world who want to be mentored with those who want to mentor.
TRINICY in general and our Online Mentorship Program in particular are not intended to replace engagement with a local, Bible-believing, Gospel-driven, Christ-centered church and/or campus ministry. We encourage our Mentees to connect locally as much as possible.
TRINICY is there for those who, for one reason or another, are unable or have limited ability to connect with a local Christian community. We specialize in identifying Christian students who feel deeply-isolated on their campuses and connecting them with a global network of like-minded, like-hearted, and like-spirited Christians for mutual support. This program is offered free of charge to Christian mentees (students, recent graduates, and young professionals), knowing that it could very well be a lifeline to many.

FAQ
- Is there an age requirement to join as a Mentee?
- TRINICY works with students in their middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate years, as well as those who have recently graduated, and are young professionals. If you fulfill this criteria, then you are generally eligible for the program, regardless of your age. Mentees under 18 years old will require a parent or guardian’s consent.
- What if I’m under 18 years old and I can’t get a parent or guardian to sign the consent form?
- Please contact us via email ([email protected]). The sign ups are treated on a case-by-case basis, so do not hesitate to reach out if you have any concern.
- What is the time commitment like for participants?
- Both Mentors and Mentees are expected to commit approximately two (2) hours per week - about one hour interacting with each other, and another hour preparing for the mentoring session.
- What happens if I miss a session with my Mentor or Mentee?
- Currently, mentorship is a weekly commitment for both Mentors and Mentees to connect. If unable to attend a session, please make arrangements as far in advance as possible with your Mentee/ Mentor and reschedule the session. We understand life happens and we leave it to you to make any necessary adjustments.
- I’m in between degrees and am currency not a student. Can I still join as a Mentee?
- You may be eligible as a recent graduate (within 3 years of graduation) or as a future student. Contact us to discuss your situation.
- How are you going to match Mentors and Mentees?
- Mentors and Mentees will be matched based on the information provided in the application form. Our initial match is based on gender, and then education, season in life, and stated needs as it arises during the application process, which includes the video interview.
- Can I choose my Mentor or Mentee?
- No, not in the beginning. TRINICY pre-assigns the Mentor-Mentee relationship based on application, interviews, gender, interests, and needs. However, mentees who are returning to the program can request to work with their current mentors or someone else. Furthermore, mentees have access to the larger TRINICY community, including other mentors they are not paired with, so there is flexibility and multiple sources of potential support.
- If I participate long-term, will I be able to keep the same Mentor or will my Mentor change each session?
- Our goal is to facilitate long-term relationships as much as possible. However, we cannot guarantee that your Mentor will be available for the next session or that you will be each others' best match for that round.
- What is the main content of the mentorship program? Is there a curriculum or are we free to discuss anything in life?
- Content for the program varies. We are currently using Bible Study Fellowship’s free resources to help our Mentors and Mentees dive into the Word of God together.
- I don't speak English fluently. Can I still join the program?
- We will accommodate you to the best of our ability, especially if you are interested in and committed to improving your English language proficiency. However, since, currently, most of our Mentors speak English, we conduct our sessions almost entirely in this language.
- I just found out about this awesome program. Can I join after a session deadline has passed?
- You can apply anytime during the year! We have a waiting list, and try our best to match Mentees who are extremely motivated to be paired with a Christian Mentor.
