MentorThe years beginning after my graduation from NC State University (Class of 1993, BS Poultry and Animal Science) began on May 15, 1993 when I joined the ranks of military spouses as the wife of a US Army 1st Lieutenant. Living in Georgia, Oklahoma and Utah provided my husband, Warren, and I with some wonderful experiences of living and working around several different military bases across our beautiful country. We moved back to North Carolina for Warren to begin graduate school at the UNC School of Law in August,1997. Upon his graduation in May, 2000 we moved back to Morganton, NC, our hometown, where he joined a small law practice begun by his father. Our third child was born in October of that same year and she completed a trio of daughters. I was blessed to begin my career as a stay-at-home mom to Audra, Brenna and Julia Daniel.

As our girls aged we agreed that the best plan for our family in educating them would be to homeschool. We utilized a classical education method and I served as a classroom leader (tutor) for many years to homeschool children in our “co-op”. For their final two years in high school, our daughters attended our local community college earning up to 30 hours of credit towards their undergraduate degree. I will always treasure the extra hours, days, weeks and months that homeschooling allowed me to be able to spend educating and nurturing our girls.
In 2009, after much prayer and thoughtful discernment, and with my full support, my husband decided to run for the NC Senate in the 44th district consisting of Burke and Caldwell Counties. He was elected in 2010 and is now serving in his 5th term, and for the past 3 years I have served as one of his legislative staff in a part time capacity, researching a variety of policy issues and helping constituents from our district and all across our state with the many issues that can arise in dealing with state government.
I am honored and excited to partner with TRINICY in the Mentorship program. The one-on-one relationship with my mentee will hopefully encourage a deeper relationship between us and with the Lord. Chelsea Comadoll speaks highly of this ministry to students and I look forward to what the Lord is going to do through this new alliance.
